• Act as a Co-Expert, responsible for preparation of Arbitral documents [Expert Witness Report] with reference to Statement of Claim, Statement of Defence and other documents forming part of the Arbitral proceedings.

• Negotiating and closing the final accounts of the Subcontractors / Consultants / Subconsultants and ensuring that all close-out deliverables are obtained from the concerned party.
• Minimize potential disputes by ensuring consistent documentation of all contract-related activities and timely resolution of any issues.
• Evaluating and defending claims relating to Extension of Time, Disruption, Acceleration, abortive works raised by Master Developer.

AL AMERAT WASTEWATER PROJECT: Contract Administrator - Project Management Team for 6 packages (Networks / STP) – For Haya Water, Oman. Approved by Haya Water.

Pre-Contracts:

• As part of tender evaluation and award team – evaluation of bids & recommendation for Award of Contract.

Contract Management:

• Ensuring contracts are executed as per the Contractual Conditions - Haya Standard Conditions of Contract / IChemE.
• Advising Client on matters related to delays and deviations from Contractual conditions.
• Responsible for compiling all documentation for Contract Amendments/ Variations and Change orders jointly with the Quantity Surveyors.
• Responsible for all contractual correspondence between Contractors – Consultant and Client.
• Attending all Contractor / Client meetings.
• Provide support to the site team, project manager, QS and junior planners on all Contracts & planning related matters. Review of Contractor & Client billing.
• Evaluating Monthly Progress Reports, planned Vs Actual progress and costs with the baseline parameters and writing to Contractors on deviations.
• Carry out risk management - Risk identification, assessment, and control of risks throughout the project life cycle and review the Risk registers, As part of identified risk -Track the Contractor’s long lead items to avoid any delay in the projects.

Claims & Disputes:

• Review & analyse claims, especially EOT Claim, and other cost claims submitted by the Contractor and give Engineer’s Determination. Submit recommendation to Employer for approval.
• As an Engineer to the Contract, was instrumental in providing Engineer’s determination with all substantiating documents during the Arbitration between the Client and Contractors on major disputes.
• Was a key member of the team during NJS’s liquidation process and subsequent Arbitration with the Client.

Planning & Cost Control/ Subcontracting & Procurement

1. Project Planning for 2 projects in Roads & Bridges sector (Wadi Kabir -Darsait Flyovers & Road Improvement and Azaiba Interchange Project for Muscat Municipality).

2. Preparation of Schedules, monthly updates, monthly progress reports for the project.

3. Material procurement for items like Ready Mix Concrete, Road Base material, Asphalt, Bridge bearings amongst others. Subcontractor finalization and award for various subcontract works.

4. Involved in Budget preparation, job cost monitoring and cost reporting for 2 projects.

Pre-Contract: Tendering

1. Part of the team involved in the bidding of the Muscat & Salalah International Airports (US $ 3 billion).

- Obtained subcontractor and vendor quotes, preparing comparative statements for incorporation in the bid pricing.

- Prepare risk analysis for bids and provide support to design teams.

- Key Achievement: Single handedly created a large vendor database for Airports related items for Oman projects.

2. Had key responsibility for the entire bidding of projects, notable amongst them being Duqm Port & Drydock and House of Musical Arts, Muscat.

Contracts Administration of the following 2 projects (FIDIC based):

1. Dhauliganga Hydroelectric Project, 280 MW (4 x 70 MW), Uttaranchal, India.

2. Bandra Influent & Effluent Sewage Disposal Project, Mumbai, India

• Key Achievements: Have successfully obtained Extension of Time with Extended Stay Costs claims, insurance claims, variations, extra work etc.

• Was instrumental in suggesting and assisted in obtaining pending payments in two long pending disputes, by referring them to the Dispute Resolution Board and Arbitration.

As part of NICMAR internship, assisted Area Manager as Planner for 5 bridge projects and was at site as planning engineer for a bridge rehabilitation project in South Mumbai.
