Department of museums
The al-Qasim Foundation offered this experience to me. I started to work on December 27, 2020, and until December 31, 2020. On the first day, I went on a tour of the library and received instructions on how they organize the amounts of books; following that, I spent three hours sorting the books on my own. After the first day, I began working with them on how to clean precious antiques, which is a tremendous responsibility because the cleaning methods are so diverse that we must be very careful and exact in how we clean the pieces. Following that, I began assisting with the creation of tours for guests, which was my favorite aspect of greeting visitors and simply conversing with them. On the final day, they asked me to learn how they register items in the system. This was the most exhausting thing I performed because there were so many files and I had to be careful to place each item in the appropriate file. Overall, the experience was quite pleasant. I worked with a group that was not my age, so the way they taught me and gave me advice was clear, and it helped a lot. They also tried to let me be a part of their team so I could get a sense of how the work placement would be in the future, and when they teach me, after that they leave me to work alone so I could gain experience.
