Completed 6 months of intensive training at clinical pharmacy department between ambulatory, critical, and cardiology care units. The program included some competencies like Direct Patient Care, and Pharmacotherapy Knowledge by demonstrating and applying in-depth knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, pathophysiology, and the clinical signs, symptoms, and natural history of diseases and/or disorders. System-based Care & Population Health included participating in identifying systems-based errors and implementing solutions, Resolving medication-related problems to improve patient/population health and quality metrics. Continuing Professional Development by Identifying and implementing strategies for personal improvement through continuing professional development and providing professional education to students, trainees, or other health professionals. Communicating effectively with: Patients, caregivers, families, and laypersons of diverse backgrounds and other health professionals and stakeholders. Using verbal communications tailored to varied clinical and patient-specific environments.
I was assigned as a student trainee for 60 days as a part of my Community Pharmacy-I training. I received orientation from a Faculty member from the College of Pharmacy who introduced me to the Community Pharmacist, who served as my onsite training Preceptor. The training exposed me to real-life settings, which is an invaluable opportunity as a student.
