Medsol Diagnostics is a premier network of highly efficient and specialized laboratories offering a broad spectrum of comprehensive services across the UAE, analyzing thousands of laboratory tests daily, while adhering to the international standard for medical laboratories – ISO 15189, as well as other regional health regulations.


General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensured adherence to the laboratory's Quality Manual, Quality Standard Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures for specific laboratory sections.
  • Identified and addressed equipment malfunctions and reagent issues that could negatively impact testing performance and laboratory results
  • Conducted proficiency testing, including RIQAS, EQAS, MLE, CAP, and interlaboratory comparison tests, following standard procedures
  • Identified specimen rejection criteria and other non- conformities, implementing necessary corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborated with the laboratory quality manager, laboratory director, and clinical pathologist to uphold the quality management system
  • Conducted routine maintenance, calibrations, and quality control for equipment, while monitoring preventive maintenance schedules
  • Leveraged laboratory information management systems to efficiently and effectively report patient results
  • Adhered to safety protocols and precautions to maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment

I. HEMATOLOGY, COAGULATION, and IMMUNOHEMATOLOGY

  • CBC and peripheral blood smears for abnormal results
  • Microscopic procedures for the counting and identifying of blood cells: differential count, platelet count estimation, WBC count estimation, and recognition of blood cell anomalies and abnormal morphologies
  • Manual reticulocyte staining and counting
  • Blood smear parasites screening and identification
  • Coagulation tests including PT/INR, aPTT, and D- dimer
  • Protein C and S activity, Anti-thrombin III activity, and DRVVT/Lupus anticoagulant screening and confirmatory tests
  • Thalassemia screening by HPLC method and result interpretation
  • ABO and RhD blood typing; antiglobulin testing such as direct and indirect coomb's tests, using both manual and automated methods by gel agglutination technology
  • Identified blood group discrepancies by analyzing and investigating inconsistencies in blood typing results
  • Verified the accuracy of findings, identified test inconsistencies, and took corrective actions to resolve issues and ensure accurate results

II. CLINICAL CHEMISTRY

  • Performed a wide range of tests on blood and urine to assess biochemical markers such as glucose, electrolytes, lipids, proteins, enzymes, and metabolites
  • Properly prepared, stored, and managed clinical chemistry reagents, calibrators, and control materials to ensure stability and effectiveness throughout the intended use period
  • Analyzed test results to detect abnormal values or trends and correlated these findings with clinical information to support the diagnosis

III. IMMUNOLOGY AND SEROLOGY

  • Immunoassay techniques, including ECL, CMIA, and CLIA, to detect and quantify biomarkers such as hormones, TORCH and hepatitis markers, immunoglobulins, metabolic markers, cardiac markers, tumor markers, and specific antigens and antibodies
  • Immunoblot method for testing food and inhalation allergies, as well as for ANA and EBV assessments
  • ELISA method to test for infectious disease markers and autoimmune indicators
  • Manual serological tests such as RPR, TPHA, Widal test, and Infectious mononucleosis
  • Properly prepared, stored, and managed immunoassay reagents, calibrators, and control materials to ensure stability and effectiveness throughout the intended use period
