• Delivered profit of 11m AED equivalent in a short timeframe despite difficult government pandemic restrictions.

Project: Okahu Bay Storm and Wastewater Separation

• Co-Founded an extremely profitable civil construction company playing a critical role in the reinstatement of publicly owned infrastructure in Christchurch and surrounding areas following the Canterbury Earthquake Sequence
• Created a PMO from scratch within the organisation by assembling and leading a team of 15 direct employees (3 x PM's, 6 x QS's, 3 x Site Engineers/Assistant PM's, 3 x Admins) managing dozens of contractors across dozens of projects simultaneously
• Quickly grew the business from 0 to 9m AED equivalent turnover with almost double the average profit margins
• Sold the business in Sept 2015 with a strong order book and a 6 month handover period.

• Hired from London and flown to NZ, I played a key role in the early stages of earthquake recovery work and subsequent two years following the devastating Christchurch earthquakes
• Successfully lead a team of 12 including 4 QS's, 4 estimators and 4 administrators as part of the 6.31b AED equivalent Christchurch emergency repair program
• Project: Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT), the largest civil rebuild program in NZ history. I was hand-picked to join the team as part of the SCIRT alliance to reinstate the publicly owned horizontal infrastructure of Christchurch - 4.7b AED equivalent
• As a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the alliance, I was responsible for achieving VFM within our commercial framework across dozens of simultaneous projects
• During this role I worked closely with the Commercial Manager and gained valuable experience of large-scale Cost Forecasting, Earned Value Reporting and became familiar with the Financial Management Plan of a large, complex infrastructure program.

• Performed Cost Management tasks in support of a Senior Quantity Surveyor as part of an Irish government energy survey project of domestic dwellings across a number of counties in Ireland
• Surveys were based on the BER (Building Energy Rating) which are very similar to the EPC used in the UK
• Completed cost survey reports for each dwelling consisting of payback figures calculated from excel as well as individual correspondence letters dealing with unique characteristics of each case
• Completed Survey Risk Assessment for each survey.

• I held this Position within the City Engineers Department of the Local Government Authority
• Provided assistance to the in-house Project Manager on new build and refurbishment of council-held infrastructure projects such as St Columb's leisure park, Claudy playpark, various carpark expansions, City Cemetery expansion.
• The largest of which was the 140m AED equivalent expansion of the City of Derry Airport Runway Safety Area and apron upgrades
• This contentious infrastructure project involved Compulsory Purchase Orders of private property to make way for the much-needed infrastructure upgrade
• My widely ranging duties included topographical, measurement and inspection surveys, CAD works and production of pilot designs, construction details and maps
• Produced BOQs using Library of Standard Item Descriptions for Highway Works
• Experience gained in the following Project Life Cycle Stages; Research, Preparation of Brief, Preparing and producing tender documents and drawings (client side), Appraisal of tenders, general works adherence, snagging
• Involvement in the gathering and submission of planning applications to DOE planning
• Dealt with contractors and liased with utility providers and government departments NIE, NIW and Planning
• Attended periodic progress meetings with all stakeholders.
