- Overseeing the design and implementation of MEP Mechanical systems in FIT-OUT projects.
- Coordinating with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure that the MEP systems meet project requirements and specifications.
- Understand and study the project specification, Scope of work, LOD, Base Built Drawings, Tenant manuals, Architectural Drawings, Kitchen Supplier Drawings etc. and raise RFI for discrepancies.
- Survey the site for confirming the base built provisions and project feasibility.
- Estimating Detailed Project Cost and Tender stage Estimation for MEP Systems.
- Responsible for preparation of MEP Cost Estimate and MEP BOQ.
- Estimating the cost of project based on clients with pricing which will be competitive in the market.
- Reviewing and submitting MEP system design and plans.
- Ensuring that all MEP systems comply with building codes, regulations and safety standards.
- Find & propose economical solution to the client’s requirements by considering the base built provisions, LOD, Tenant Manual, Authority Codes etc.
- Attending meetings with client, consultant, Mall tenant coordinator, Main contractor Engineers to make sure work is in compliance with all their requirement.
- Coordinate with suppliers, sub-contractors etc. for acquiring the best offer price in Market to make comparison and negotiation.

- Visiting Site to verify that the Existing Available Provisions provided by landlord is matching with Received As Built Drawing.
- Designing of plumbing, HVAC & Fire Fighting system by coordinating with other departments after the successful awarding of the project.
- Calculating Heat load as per Dubai municipality and local authority’s requirement using Carrier HAP.
- Effectively dividing plan into zones and finalizing the unit capacities based on heat load calculation and space availability.
- Selection of Ecology Units, FCU’s, FAHU’s, Fan’s, Pumps, Grease Interceptors, etc.
- Duct sizing following ASHRAE & SMACNA standards and available heights using ductular (or) McQuay duct sizer.
- Chilled water pipe sizing using McQuay pipe sizer or charts.
- Calculation of external static pressure for blowers and pump head.
- Calculation of ventilation requirement as per DM and ASHRAE standards with schematic.
- Calculation of ventilation air balancing for kitchen hood is tabulated with schematic as per the details given by hood supplier complying with local authorities’ guidelines.
- Coordinate all mechanical requirements with other discipline engineers.
- Coordination with site engineers for the development of design for construction at site.
- Plumbing and Firefighting Design for Fit out Works in Restaurants, Cafe, Retail and Anchor Shops.
- Raise TVR’s, Material Submittals etc. and assist Technical Manager for Authority Submissions.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers and adapt to the design changes in accordance with site conditions.
- Quantity Take-off using plan swift (or) blue beam software.
