• Assist in ensuring compliance with the Sharia Governance Framework, UAE Federal Law No. 14 of 2018, ISSC resolutions, AAOIFI Sharia Standards (to the extent enforced), and other applicable regulatory guidelines issued by the UAE Central Bank and the Higher Sharia Authority (HSA).
• Review Sharia-related documents, contracts, products, manuals, marketing materials, policies, and procedures to identify and mitigate Sharia non-compliance risk.
• Assist in the preparation and periodic update of Sharia compliance checklists and assessment tools in line with regulatory and internal Sharia requirements.
• Support the continuous monitoring of DIB’s business activities to ensure adherence to Sharia resolutions, fatwas, and standards issued by the HSA.
• Ensure timely communication of Sharia compliance review observations to the Internal Sharia Control Department and assist in regularizing significant Sharia-related issues.
• Support the implementation of enhancements to existing policies and procedures to strengthen Sharia controls and address identified Sharia compliance risks.
• Follow up on corrective actions related to Sharia audit and review observations until resolution.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of Sharia compliance reports on technical Sharia matters to the ISSC and internal Sharia audit.
• Contribute to promoting and cultivating Sharia compliance culture within the Bank and supporting the integration of Sharia compliance activities within the overall compliance function.
