  • The flight then deployed for 6 months, so led them in such diverse areas as Sierra Leone, the Falklands and the Caribbean
  • Large management task of dealing with a majorly unserviceable helicopter whilst in the Falklands, eventually liaising at all levels to have the aircraft replaced by one from the UK
  • Successful counter-drug operations in the Caribbean led to interception of 250kg of marijuana, 575kg of cocaine destined for Europe and several arrests
  • Detached to augment Ships Flight in HMS Richmond during Second Gulf War, seeing active service over the waterways surrounding the Al-Fawr peninsula
