I am the Clinical Resource Nurse of the Intensive Care Unit at Burjeel Hospital Abudhabi, holding an MSN in Advanced Clinical Practice from Kings College University, London& Bsc in critical care nursing. Previously, I was the Clinical Nurse Manager and Practice Educator for the Liver Intensive Care Unit at King College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. My clinical background has been primarily in Liver transplantation and management of Critically ill hepato pancreatic biliary patients for 12 years.
My goal has been to operationalize healthy work environments where clinical nurses can reach their highest, individualized potential as professional clinicians, thrive in their careers, and offer patients the best possible outcomes. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a unit-specific, competency-based continuing education program that supports new and experienced nurses in specific areas.
Creates an evidence-based program that elevates clinical practice and is responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate clinical practice standards consistent with best practice guidelines that improve patient care.
They help create processes that support the highest standards of care for patients, in collaboration with the department leadership and the multi-disciplinary team.

The Liver ITU provides the most comprehensive service for the management of critically ill patients with liver disease nationally (acute liver failure, decompensated chronic liver disease, hepatobiliary surgery and trauma and liver transplantation) and has a reputation for innovative research into novel clinical treatments such as extracorporeal liver support. The ITU facilities are located in a 15-bed area in close proximity to the liver wards, theatres and laboratories and a separate 4-bed area primarily used for level 2 patients; LITU forms part of the ITU/HDU complex taking the total bed pool to 19.
Lead on the development of the service within the liver Intensive Care Unit, including the development of staff and their bespoke educational and development needs. Involvement in the management of patient flow in this area. Supporting the staff to deliver compassionate, excellent quality care from admission to onward discharge.
● Participating in the assessment of their practice and Lecturing in mandatory courses(Transitional course, Life support courses, simulation course, Intensive care Nursing, Mentorship ) as well.
● Supporting Associate Clinical Practice Educators in identifying training and education needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities in their clinical area of practice

● Facilitating ongoing development and implementation of education initiatives in particular orientation, preceptorship and mentorship programs for students and new members of staff.

promoted high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertise and leading the creation of a clinical environment that encourages learning, professional and practice development, as well as facilitating and monitoring attendance at trust induction, mandatory training updates, practice development and skill acquisition for all levels of nursing staff in the Liver ICU
Formulated specialist clinical education and support for all levels of nursing staff in the Liver ICU as well as providing tailored study days and programmes designed to meet the needs of the nursing team.
